Modupe Kolawole attended Bishop Akinyele Independence School, Oke Ado, Ibadan for elementary education from where she was admitted into the famous Ibadan Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan from September 1974 to June 1979.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Education Degree, Second Upper Division, from University of Ibadan in 1986 and obtained a Masters degree in Special Education in 1988 from the same citadel of learning, the premier University in Nigeria.
She also holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1996 and she is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Administration and Policy Analysis at the University of Abuja.

She joined the Nigerian Ombudsman, Public Complaints Commission on 4th October 1988 as an Investigation Officer and by virtue of hard work and dedication to duty, rose to the rank of a Director. She has held the following Directorate positions at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja; Deputy Director of Administration, Director of Investigation, Director, Planning, Research & Information Communication and Technology Director, Public Relations (currently).


In the course of her selfless service to Nigeria, she was on secondment to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) between December 2008 and February 2011 where she served as an Assistant Director, Employee Relations in the Human Capital Management Department, Revenue House, Abuja until she became a Deputy Director and deseconded to her parent organization. Over the years, she has attended several local and international courses and presented papers at different forums in her name. Ms Kolawole is a recipient of several organisations awards and a member of various professional bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (IPMN), Institute of Public Management (UNIQUE) ,and Mediation Training Institute MTI.


She is an active member of Ibadan Grammar School Old Students Association (an association that promotes the development of the school socially, financially, culturally and education in Nigeria). She has served the association with passion in different capacities viz; pioneer Secretary of the Abuja Branch of IGSOSA from 2006 to 2010, Chairman, Abuja branch from 2010 to 2014, 2nd National Vice President at the national level from 2010-2014, 1st National Vice President, 2014 till date. Ms Kolawole is also a member of Ilupeju Ekiti Development Association Council; a community association of all sons and daughters of Ilupeju Ekiti which promotes the development and progress of the town.

Her hobbies are reading, travelling and taking photographs.
