He had held management positions in Afribank Plc (now Mainstream Bank Ltd), Intercontinental Bank Plc (Now Access Bank Plc) following which he rose to the position of the Regional Director, South West with diverse professional training and qualifications. His expertise in banking cuts across Corporate Finance, Risk Management and Control, Commercial Banking and International Operation. He had attended various international courses, Seminars and Workshops and acquired considerable experience in banking operations, garnered through the ranks by promotion as Head of Operations, special Assistant to the MD/CEO, Senior Manager, Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager, General Manager and Executive Director of the bank.

Dr Babalola is presently the Chairman and Chief Executive, Emmsmith Investment Ltd (The company engages in Construction, Property Developments, Financial Consultancy and UAC Franchising); Chairman, DNL Estate Ltd (The company engages in Real Estate Development and Consultancy Services). Chairman, Beaufortbet Nig. Ltd.(The company engages in Sport Betting Activities), Director, Omiye Micro Finance Bank, Ilupeju Ekiti State.
